The demolition of silos for the storage of materials placed on the Civitavecchia dock. The area on which stood the site to be demolished is within the historic port, in particular is the one between the 7-8 docks better known as Molo del Bicchiere. The shape is almost rectangular with dimensions of about 65 m x 230 m and has a maximum height of 47 m from the countryside. The industrial complex developed longitudinally parallel to the quays.<\/p>\n
The “buildings” to be demolished were more than half a century old, so demolition had to be carried out with even greater accuracy. Some structural parts were now unreinforced and had to rely on the concrete inner core for their stability. The structures of the circular silos all presented a widespread state of substantial suffering, aggravated by the reduced thickness of the already oxidized reinforcement.<\/p>\n
The general conditions of the site therefore required the use of mechanical means suitable for carrying out special controlled demolitions. For this operation, as in all other operations, the Group has adopted innovative techniques and specific treatments that, in a second phase, have allowed the recovery and reuse of demolition materials, with an eye to environmental sustainability. The intervention lasted about 2 months, in full respect of the time set by the client. For the execution of the works were used 2 crawler demolition vehicles of which one equipped with 1.200 qli telescopic boom that reaches a height of more than 50 m and equipped with 25 q.li hydraulic gripper and an excavator 400 q.li equipped with 50qli hydraulic gripper.<\/p>\n
This type of contract, extremely delicate for the complexity of the operation to be performed, requires high qualifications in terms of engineering skills and equipment.
