The demolition has required a considerable effort given the proximity of the structure to the historic center. The technicians worked for six months before being able to reach the final phase of demolition with explosives. Microcharges of 450 kilograms were used of TNT. At the end, 65,000 tons of debris were collected. These were then crushed, shredded, separated and placed on a conveyor belt and taken to a quarry.
