From railway station to urban hub for sustainable mobility
Vitali S.p.A. won the tender promoted by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, with a project financed through PNRR funds and resources from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The project involves the complete redevelopment of the railway station and surrounding areas, with the aim of creating a modern, efficient infrastructure that is fully integrated into the urban fabric. Among the main works planned: Construction of two new Bridge Buildings to accommodate all the station’s functions. Extension of the railway yard. New platform accesses equipped with escalators, lifts and ramps. Covered overpasses, cycle paths and new green areas. Complete covering of the platforms and replacement of the existing subway with overhead crossings. Construction of an innovative landbridge between Via Fantoni and the school complex in Viale Europa.
