A new paradigm for sustainable urban mobility
A strategic infrastructure that will improve transport, the environment and urban quality. The new route will connect the Intermodal Hub of Bergamo Station with the main urban and industrial poles of Dalmine, Verdellino and the Kilometro Rosso in Stezzano. With 29.7 km of route and 23 stops, the system is designed to ensure high efficiency and accessibility, thanks to smart bus shelters equipped with digital technologies for real-time information. The e-BRT aims at a drastic reduction of emissions: 15 electric articulated buses will be used, with an estimated cut of 780 tonnes of CO₂ per year. In addition, photovoltaic panels in the depots will contribute to a further saving of 183 tonnes of CO₂ per year. With more than 73 per cent of the route on dedicated lanes, the system will ensure faster and more punctual journeys, favouring public transport that is competitive with the private car and promoting integrated, sustainable and modern mobility.
